Rumah ROS

Paving the Path to a Better Life

The inspiration to establish Rumah Ros began back in 2008, when we noticed that many Orang Asli (indigenous) children were dropping out of school, lacked encouragement from their parents, had limited means, and viewed education as unimportant. The same situation was observed among children in nearby villages.

With the burden God placed in our hearts, we began by taking in two children, bringing them home to live with us as our own, and enrolling them in school using our own finances. Four years passed, and in 2013, we began to share this vision with the LCM headquarters. By the end of 2013 and the beginning of 2014, we brought six children from Kampung Sungai Tekam to Pengkalan Hulu and registered them to begin their studies at a government school—some in Form 1 and 2, and one in Standard 6.

We are witnessing the fruits of our labor today. Through the Rumah Ros project, the impact has spread to many other areas due to the success of those who have gone on to college, vocational institutes and securing jobs in the working world. Many parents now wish to register their children as well; however, our capacity remains limited. Nonetheless, we are truly grateful to have come this far. We deeply appreciate and thank everyone for their support and assistance. May God bless and reward all your efforts and contributions toward this project.
