Kaizen Children Home: Nurturing Lives, Transforming Futures
Kaizen Children Home began its journey of love and transformation on 8th August 2009.
The name “Kaizen” — a Japanese word meaning continuous improvement — perfectly reflects our heart and mission: to nurture every child into becoming a better person, growing steadily in knowledge, faith, and maturity. At Kaizen, we believe transformation happens not overnight, but through daily care, guidance, and grace.
Nestled within a single-storey bungalow in Taman Tasik Semenyih, the Home sits on a 9,000-square-foot property that stands as a testament to the generosity and compassion of many. The house was partially donated by two kind individuals, with the remaining funds drawn from the Lutheran Church Malaysia (LCM) Social Concern Fund.
The initial renovation and extension work were made possible through the tireless efforts of Ms. Wendy Yap, who rallied a group of generous donors to help create a safe and welcoming space for children in need. From the very beginning, Taman Midah Lutheran Church (TMLC) embraced Kaizen Children Home as part of their ministry family — offering support, resources, and heartfelt involvement. We remain deeply grateful to the members of TMLC for their early and ongoing contributions in helping the Home take root.
Growth, Challenges, and Renewal
In 2014, Kaizen Children Home faced a difficult season and had to cease operations temporarily. Yet, through faith and perseverance, the vision was not lost. By 2017, under the renewed leadership of LCM, the Home was lovingly reopened — revitalized and recommitted to its mission of caring for vulnerable children.
Since then, we have continued to improve our facilities, adding a new boys’ toilet and a wet kitchen to better serve the needs of our residents. Today, Kaizen Children Home provides a safe, nurturing environment for eight stay-in children, aged between 4 and 12 years old, with the capacity to welcome up to 20 children.
Our Home is officially registered with the Registrar of Societies (ROS) since 6th November 2009, and all renewal documents have been submitted to the Social Welfare Department for continued recognition as a licensed welfare home.
Our Mission
At Kaizen, we strive to provide more than just shelter. We aim to create a loving home where every child feels valued, cared for, and inspired to grow — emotionally, spiritually, and intellectually. Our hope is that each child who passes through our doors will one day leave with confidence, integrity, and faith, ready to make a positive impact in the world.
