About the Show

 

The latest edition of Johann Sebastian Bach’s lesser-heard 1725 “St. John Passion” (ed. by Prof. Dr. Manuel Bärwald, 2021) will be performed for the first time in Malaysia by the award-winning Malaysia Bach Festival Singers and Orchestra, led by international conductor David Chin. This special version includes some of the most unique and dramatic arias which Bach has ever composed. Bach uses multidimensional and multi-layered music in this timeless masterpiece to explore the meaning of love, friendship, betrayal, pain, suffering, longing, hope, faith, and many other aspects of life which are highly relatable to all humankind. Audience members will be invited to participate in selected chorales during the performance. Each ticket holder will also have complimentary admission to the rare Bach manuscripts exhibition, and special lectures presented by Rev. Thomas Low, Prof. Dr. Manuel Bärwald, and Dr. David Chin. TICKETS

LCM members especially from the Central Districts to attend and be blessed by this sacred music concert. To meet LCM obligation on the sale of tickets, the tickets will be allocated to each congregation in Central Districts based on 20% of the membership. The price of each ticket is RM100.00. Each congregation has to pay for the tickets allocated.
